How to Plant a Tree

On the 10th October 2008 Mr.Cullen came to St. Francis of Assisi School. It was National Tree Week. He was here to plant a tree. The name of the tree is Carpinus. It is a deciduous tree. This means that its leaves fall in Autumn. Firstly he dug a hole, then he got a stake to hold the tree up. He put the tree in the hole and we all helped him put the muck back in the hole. He told us information about the roots of the tree. There are two types of roots, one to hold it up and one for water. We all thanked Mr.Cullen for all his help. The whole school had their photo taken with Mr. Cullen and our new tree. It is just outside our front door. Look at it when you come to visit our school.
